I just realized that I didn't post this on here.... But I sent in my confirmation to CalArts and sent out my un-confirmation (?) to USC, NYU, UofA, St. Mary's, UNR, and San Jose. Houseing went out the other day too... and I need to fax in the financial aid ASAP (oppsie)
Now that the decision's over with I am ubber super duper excited to get my butt down there, animated and meet AMAZING artists.
YAYA CalArts! and YAYA to the end of AP testing for the rest of my life.
Now, if I could just get out of work...

Colleger is confusing...
So I went down and looked at CalArts and USC.
CalArts is definatly weird to see when there aren't a ton of CSSSA kids around. It's funny because even though I was there for a month, I felt really overwelmed and confused. Half the time I was there I just sat there and did nothing but try to take it all in. Definatly not the way to get questions answered or meet new people. Plus, it was a VERY intimidating experience. All the amazing CSSSA kids were there and I definatly get freaked out by awesome artists... intimidating. I guess that is probably why I am having second thoughts about CalArts. Everyone is just AMAZING there. I'm definatly afraid I will not be able to keep up.
USC was beautiful! Wowwie. I wish that they'd just slap the whole CalArts character animation program on the campus. It was so full of energy and that college campus feeling that is really cliche. From what I saw in the animation program, I wasn't too impressed. I think that any decision rests on the advise of some of the CSSSA teachers I e-mailed.
I'm definatly leaning towards CalArts...
but what if I screw up the choice?

Showdown of schools.
K, looks like its between USC and CalArts (NYU's Tisch feel out the moment I got the price for a dorm rooms). So.... I'm off to snag a looksie at CalArts (again) and sneek a look at the USC's cinema school's animation department (wowwa). Will I keep an open mind? Yep. But considering the alumni and acceptance rate for CalArts, it kicks ass.
Should be fun.
O and Disneyland is definatly the place to be between visits.

My CalArts Portfolio
Here is some of the stuff I stuffed into my CalArts portfolio. I'll try to through the rest up after I get it back from them.
Its interesting too look back on the stuff I was doing in CSSSA when I first started figure drawing compared to this stuff. And even looking at my drawings now versus these ones. I have like a TON to learn... which is really exciting because that means I'll be getting my $$$s worth at CalArts. Yaya!
